ARTISTS
Prazvi Pahwa
Prazvi has been painting with watercolors for over 5 years. She first discovered her love for the medium when she took a watercolor class in college and was enamored by the fluid, luminous nature of the paints. Though initially drawn to landscape painting, Prazvi now focuses primarily on still life and floral subjects which allow her to experiment with colorful compositions and unpredictable textures using wet-on-wet techniques.

When Prazvi hosts watercolor painting workshops and classes, her goal is to share her passion for the splendor and challenges of the medium while guiding colleagues to embrace their creativity. Her encouraging, insightful teaching style allows artists of all skill levels to build confidence while advancing their unique artistic voices.

This is an experiment in watercolour and Indian ink. I love the drama between the solid black and the soft background colours. The idea is drawn from a photograph in an online feature on silhouette photography by Karyn Teno. To get the net skirt shading I used a Cold Grey 1, Faber Castell Pitt Pen.

Hi, I?m Tracy, I?ve recently started painting with watercolour, this painting was inspired by the loss of my dog Indie, I call this painting ?my minds eye ? as it depicts what I see when I go to sleep, just me and my dog taking a walk.As a beginner in watercolour this was a pretty challenging painting and nowhere near perfect but I love it anyway and appreciate all the great feedback I?ve had .

Just a watercolour on a picture downloaded online. I added a star fish to make the painting more interesting. I had posted this painting in my personal Facebook.

This wasn't a painting from a photo, it was painted from memory, a Robin in my garden at Christmas, dropping by when I was thinking of my brother who sadly passed away last year at the same time. I just though it was poingnant, hence the name - a Robin to remember.

I have recently started painting , I?ve started going through my photos to get inspiration, the photo I used for this painting was taken in the north coast of Cornwall , I change things when I paint so as to make the painting mine , the sky in the photo was much darker , I wanted my painting to look light and airy, I feel I have achieved that , as a beginner I?m quite pleased but always room for improvement.

I almost threw this away. Sometimes I have a hard time "pushing through" a painting that I am doing. I'm tempted to stop and say "this is not good, I won't finish it, it's awful". I painted the sky background a year ago and the painting just sat in a corner. One day I decided to just "play" with this piece of paper and I loved what happened! Quite often I find that I need to let my artwork just cook in a corner. Every once in a while I surprise myself!

I use my small watercolor kit to document the places I experience while traveling and working on tje road. I was able to spend most of the winter in Arizona, spending time in the unique Sonoran desert. Where each saguaro cacti has its own personality within the Sonoran's surreal landscape.

After I had joint replacement surgery on my left thumb, my dominant hand, I still wanted to paint. I thought that I'd just play with color using my right hand to wield the brush. To my amazement, I painted with more spontaneity and with a looseness I've been trying to achieve before. Maybe I'm ambidextrous and have only just discovered it (I'm 76).

Title or Location: Twilight in Penarth
I used to live in Penarth, and find it an interesting town by the sea, with lovely shopping, eclectic coffee shops, parks, and of course the wonderful pier. I am also fascinated by the wonderful lamps in Britain and beyond, their history and intricate designs. Hence this lovely lamp, taken from its neighbours, to stand proud and alone, but with the outline of the pier behind to illustrate its context of Penarth.
