Long Exposure Photography Meetup

Sunday 21 January
Broad St, Old Portsmouth - 6pm - 2 Hours
Portsmouth Photography Group
If you really want to make use of the long Winter evenings as we head in Autumn, and to add an extra flair to your photography, then long exposure photography may be for you!

Long exposure is where we make use of very slow shutter speeds to allow as much light into our camera as possible. The effect? Light trails, blurring, smearing, and obscuring of moving elements with a creative (sometimes ghostly) effect. The fundamental for night-time photography, astrological and abstract ideas.

This meet up is for all abilities whether you are an advanced photographer, or a complete beginner, you are very welcome.

We will meet in the heart of Old Portsmouth on Spice Island to see the wandering busy streets, view the boats in the harbour (and potentially focus on the night sky if we have a clear night as it is a new moon phase!)

Title or Location: Another lane in Hayling Island
This is the second of two gouache paintings made after a walk around Hayling Island in August 2022. The trees are all on the turn and the colours are stunning. I really ought to get my gouache paints out again as this was the last time they saw the light of day.

This is one of two gouache paintings that were done after a walk at Hayling Island. My visit was at the end of August '22 and I loved the mix of autumnal colours with still some fresh evergreen colours mainly ivy cladding the walls and tree tunks.
